Annapurna Interactive just executed a surprise multi-port combo on the Switch 2, announcing five games coming to Nintendo's new hardware - and two of them are already available right now. According to Video Games Chronicle, Sayonara Wild Hearts and Lorelei and the Laser Eyes have already spawned into the Switch 2 ecosystem as of today.

The full roster of incoming ports

If you already own the Switch versions of these titles, Annapurna is letting you upgrade for free - so no need to spend extra Gold Coins to re-enter the game. That's a rare W in an industry that has historically loved charging you twice for the same pixels.

The confirmed star of the upcoming lineup is Stray, the beloved cat-protagonist adventure game that made millions of players forget they were humans for a few hours. Per Video Games Chronicle, Stray is locked in for a next month release on Switch 2, which means you'll soon be able to meow at robots in glorious portable mode.

Why this matters

Annapurna has quietly built one of the most critically acclaimed indie libraries in the game, and pushing these titles onto Switch 2 gives the platform a serious cultural credibility boost right out of the gate. Lorelei and the Laser Eyes is one of the most brain-melting puzzle experiences of the last few years, and Sayonara Wild Hearts is basically a playable pop album - both are perfect fits for a handheld that wants to flex more than just first-party muscle.

The free upgrade path is also a smart move. It rewards loyal players who already invested in the Switch ecosystem rather than punishing them for switching (pun absolutely intended) to the new hardware. More publishers should be taking notes.

With five ports announced and two already live, Annapurna is clearly in speed-run mode when it comes to supporting the Switch 2 library. Keep an eye on that Stray drop next month - your portable cat game era is loading.
