Just when you thought it was safe to walk around in the fog, Dead by Daylight is going full anime again. According to Eurogamer, Behaviour Interactive is cooking up a second Attack on Titan crossover for the beloved asymmetrical horror title - and they're bundling it with the return of the fan-favourite 2v8 game mode. That's two killers, eight survivors, and zero chill.

If you missed the first Attack on Titan collab, congratulations on finally touching grass. The original crossover was a massive hit with the DBD community, so bringing it back alongside a hyped-up game mode is basically the dev equivalent of a perfect combo input.

Two killers, eight survivors, one massive W

The 2v8 mode - which lets two killers team up to absolutely demolish a group of eight survivors - was a limited-time event that players have been begging to see return since it first dropped. Pairing its comeback with an Attack on Titan theme is, frankly, inspired game design or at least very smart marketing. Possibly both.

Think about it: the Titans are literally unstoppable giant monsters that hunt humans for sport. If anything, Dead by Daylight is the most canon crossover universe Attack on Titan could ever land in. The Entity and the Titans would probably get along great at dinner parties.

What we know so far

Details are still dropping in from the fog, and Eurogamer's report doesn't go deep on which specific characters or cosmetics are included this time around. But given how well-received the first collab was, expectations are sky-high - kind of like the Wall Titans in the finale (spoilers, but also, come on).

Behaviour has been on a crossover spree lately, pulling in IP after IP to keep the DBD roster feeling fresh. Adding a returning limited-time mode on top of a major anime collab is a solid double-XP moment for the game's live service strategy.

No firm release date has been confirmed yet, so survivors and killers alike will need to keep their ears to the ground - or, you know, check the DbD socials obsessively like the rest of us. Either way, the fog is about to get a whole lot more titan-sized.
