Someone forgot to put the parking brake on this one. Reliable leaker billbil-kun has spilled the oil on a brand new, unannounced Hot Wheels game ahead of Geoff Keighley's Summer Game Fest showcase, according to Push Square. Classic rookie mistake - leaving your DLC in the store backend where the speedrunners can find it.
The game is reportedly called Hot Wheels Infinite Rush, and before you ask - yes, it does sound exactly like the kind of name a 9-year-old would come up with for a racing game, and that is absolutely a compliment. It's developed by Milestone, the Italian studio that already proved they could turn a plastic toy brand into a legitimately fun arcade racer with the Hot Wheels Unleashed games.

Why you should actually care about this
Look, Hot Wheels Unleashed was genuinely a banger - a surprise hit that punched way above its toyetic weight class. Milestone clearly had a blast (and probably decent sales figures) making those games, so a third entry called "Infinite Rush" has some serious potential to deliver the goods. The word "Infinite" in a racing game title either means "we have a ton of content" or "we're going live service" - and we are praying to the checkered flag gods it's the former.

The timing of this leak is chef's kiss levels of awkward, dropping just hours before Summer Game Fest was set to presumably reveal it properly with a shiny trailer and Geoff Keighley doing his best hype man impression. Billbil-kun has a rock-solid track record when it comes to these pre-show leaks, so consider this one about as confirmed as it gets without an official announcement.

What we don't know yet
Pretty much everything else, honestly. Platforms, release date, whether it still has those gloriously over-the-top loop-de-loop tracks - all unknown for now. But if Summer Game Fest is happening imminently, we probably won't have to wait long for the full reveal to drop and fill in the blanks. Time to strap in, because this one might actually be worth getting hyped about.
