The Level-5 Vision 2026 Showcase has come and gone, and while Professor Layton fans walked away satisfied, followers of the studio's other projects are still left with more questions than answers, according to Nintendo Life.
During the presentation, Level-5 president Akihiro Hino rolled out a sizzle reel covering three upcoming titles: Inazuma Eleven RE (a remake of the original Inazuma Eleven), detective RPG Decapolice, and a third unspecified project. None of the three received firm release dates, leaving their 2026 launch windows firmly in the "potential" category.
Decapolice and the Switch 2 question
One notable takeaway from the showcase is that Decapolice may now be targeting Nintendo Switch 2. The detective RPG has been in development for some time, and a potential platform shift would at least partially explain the continued radio silence on a concrete launch window.
Inazuma Eleven RE similarly remains without a date attached. The remake of the beloved football RPG has a dedicated fanbase that's been patiently waiting for any meaningful update, and the showcase didn't deliver much beyond confirming the game is still in the pipeline.
A mixed showing overall
Level-5 showcases tend to generate goodwill through sheer variety, but when key titles exit without dates, the excitement can fizzle fast. The studio has a history of ambitious projects and extended development cycles, so the lack of release windows isn't entirely surprising - though it doesn't make the wait any easier for fans invested in these specific games.
Professor Layton content apparently landed well with its audience, which at least gives the showcase something to celebrate. But for anyone tracking Decapolice or Inazuma Eleven RE, it looks like 2026 launch windows remain unconfirmed for now, and patience is still the name of the game.
