MachineGames has confirmed that the Switch 2 version of Indiana Jones and the Great Circle is a complete, uncompromised port, with the studio stating the experience is "just one-to-one" compared to other platforms. According to Nintendo Life, the developer was explicit that "we haven't scaled back or cut content" for the handheld hybrid release.
The game originally launched on Xbox in 2024 before hitting PS5 earlier this year, and now Nintendo players get their crack at it on May 12th. For anyone unfamiliar, The Great Circle is a substantial first-person adventure from the Wolfenstein studio, packed with torch-lit puzzle sequences and densely built environments that make it one of the more technically demanding titles in recent memory.

Getting a game of this scope running on Switch 2 hardware is no small feat, and MachineGames seemingly didn't want to ship a watered-down version to get there. The confirmation that content is fully intact will matter a lot to players who skipped the Xbox and PS5 releases specifically to wait for a portable option.

The Switch 2 has already built a reputation for punching above its weight with ports that would have been unthinkable on the original Switch. Adding Indiana Jones to that lineup only strengthens the case that Nintendo's new console is a serious destination for third-party blockbusters, not just a stopgap for exclusives.

Whether the technical performance holds up in handheld mode remains to be seen, but the promise of a full, uncut experience sets expectations in the right place. May 12th isn't far off, so Switch 2 owners won't have to wait long to find out if fortune and glory translate well to portable play.
