Put down your Fortnite Battle Pass for one second, because Blizzard just dropped the full breakdown of Overwatch 2 Season 2, and it is, in fact, a lot. According to Polygon, the new season goes live on April 14, bringing a fresh battle pass, a new hero named Sierra, and an expanded roster for Stadium mode.
Sierra is the headliner here - a brand new hero joining the fight and almost certainly about to become either everyone's main or the subject of approximately 4,000 Reddit complaint threads within the first week. No pressure, Sierra.

Stadium mode is leveling up
Stadium, Overwatch 2's increasingly popular roguelite-adjacent mode, is getting more heroes thrown into the mix this season. Blizzard is clearly doubling down on Stadium as a long-term feature, which tracks given how much the community has latched onto its chaotic, build-crafting gameplay loop.
Collabs, skins, and the inevitable suffering
Season 2 is also coming in hot with new collaborations, because of course it is. Blizzard revealed new cosmetic partnerships alongside the seasonal content, meaning the battle pass is going to look very tempting and your bank account is going to look very sad. Per Polygon's coverage, these collabs are part of Blizzard's broader push to keep the seasonal content feeling fresh and event-worthy.

The new battle pass follows the same format players have come to know, love, and occasionally rage-quit over, offering a mix of free and premium rewards tied to the Season 2 theme. New maps are also reportedly in the pipeline, giving players fresh arenas to get absolutely demolished in.
Should you care?
If you bounced off Overwatch 2 at some point - and statistically, many of you did - Season 2 is shaping up to be a decent excuse to reinstall. A new hero alone is usually enough to shake up the meta in ways that range from 'fun and interesting' to 'completely broken for three weeks until Blizzard patches it.' Sierra will almost certainly be one of those two things.
April 14 is the date to circle on your calendar, set an alarm for, or completely forget about until your friends start spamming your Discord about it. Either way, Overwatch 2 Season 2 is incoming.
