According to Push Square, EA Sports FC 26 - originally part of the May 2026 PS Plus monthly lineup - is getting a two-week extension into June 2026, giving subscribers extra time to claim it.
Push Square notes that their writer has been covering PlayStation since before PS Plus even launched back in 2010, and they have never seen this kind of time extension pulled off before. That's over 15 years of monthly game drops and this is apparently a first - a genuine "new mechanic discovered" moment for the PS Plus meta.
So what does this mean for you, the humble subscriber? Basically, if you slept on claiming EA Sports FC 26 during May - maybe you were busy grinding through your backlog or just forgot to hit that claim button like the chaotic gamer you are - you now have a second window to grab it. Consider it a respawn. A continue screen. Sony sliding you an extra life.
The big question nobody can fully answer yet is WHY Sony broke with years of tradition here. Was it a licensing deal with EA? A push to boost FC 26's player numbers before the next entry eventually drops? A rogue PlayStation executive who just really, really likes football games? The source material doesn't say, and frankly, the mystery is half the fun.
Either way, this sets an interesting precedent.
