The upcoming Rayman Legends remake just got a massive power-up. According to PC Gamer, the project has brought on Grant Kirkhope - the legendary composer behind Banjo-Kazooie and Donkey Kong 64 - and whoever hired him is already losing their mind over how fast this man works.
Kirkhope is apparently operating on some kind of cheat code schedule. The team describes giving him a brief and watching him return the next day with something - and we're quoting here - "unbelievable." The source material notes he's described simply as "super fast," which, for a composer of his calibre, sounds less like a compliment and more like a superpower.

Why this is actually a huge deal
If you grew up with a Nintendo 64 controller fused to your hands, Grant Kirkhope's music is basically hardwired into your brain. The man is responsible for some of the most iconic platformer soundtracks ever committed to cartridge. Bringing him onto a Rayman Legends remake isn't just a nice addition - it's a full-on critical hit against nostalgia receptors.

Rayman Legends itself was already widely praised as one of the best 2D platformers of its generation, featuring some genuinely genius rhythm-based levels where the music and gameplay fused together beautifully. Handing that sonic legacy to Kirkhope is either a genius move or the developers are simply trying to make the rest of us feel things we aren't prepared for.

One day. One absolute banger. Allegedly.
The sheer efficiency angle here is almost funnier than the news itself. Most of us can't decide what to eat for lunch in a day, and this man is apparently conjuring "unbelievable" musical compositions before the morning standup is even scheduled. It's giving final boss energy from the very first session.
No release date for the remake has been confirmed yet, but with Kirkhope already in the building and apparently going full speedrun mode on the soundtrack, the audio side of this project seems to be in very safe - and very quick - hands. Keep your ears ready, this one's shaping up to be a banger in more ways than one.
