The timed console exclusivity deal between Shift Up and Sony is officially cooked, and the Korean developer is wasting zero time cashing in on that freedom. As reported by Push Square, Shift Up has confirmed that Stellar Blade is getting a Switch 2 port - meaning Eve's butt is now Nintendo-certified hardware.
If you somehow missed it, Stellar Blade launched as a PS5 timed console exclusive published by Sony, then made its way to PC last year. Shift Up had been pretty vocal about wanting the game everywhere, and now they're putting their controller where their mouth is.

From PlayStation to pocket
The Switch 2 port means players will be able to run through the game's slick hack-and-slash combat and its famously... detailed character design in full handheld mode. The discourse writes itself, honestly. Nintendo fans who spent two years watching from the sidelines are finally getting their turn.

This is a pretty big deal from a business perspective too. Stellar Blade was a genuinely excellent action game that flew a bit under the radar due to being locked to one platform. More platforms means more players, more revenue, and frankly more people getting to appreciate how solid the combat actually is - yes, beyond the obvious.

Shift Up's multiplatform era begins
With Sony's publishing arrangement now apparently in the rearview mirror, Shift Up is clearly positioning itself as a fully independent multiplatform developer. Going PS5 to PC to Switch 2 is a pretty clean sweep of the major platforms, and it signals that the studio isn't interested in staying anyone's exclusive trophy forever.
No release date has been confirmed yet for the Switch 2 version, but considering the game already runs on PC, the port pipeline shouldn't be a stranger to the team. Stay tuned - your commute is about to get significantly more anime.
