Eclipse Glow Games has released a behind-the-scenes technical showcase trailer for Tides of Annihilation, and if your GPU could sweat, it would be doing exactly that right now. The dark Arthurian adventure is running on Unreal Engine 5 with NVIDIA technology, and the devs clearly want everyone to know they are not playing around.
According to Niche Gamer, the showcase puts a spotlight on some seriously impressive tech flexing - we're talking Nanite geometry, massive boss encounters, and surreal mirror-like visual effects that look like someone gave Excalibur to a ray-tracing algorithm. Dynamic lighting and highly detailed environments round out the package, making this feel less like a medieval RPG and more like a next-gen tech demo that somehow also has a plot.

Nanite - for the uninitiated - is UE5's virtualized geometry system that basically lets developers jam an absurd amount of polygon detail into scenes without your PC filing a restraining order. Combined with NVIDIA's rendering tricks, Eclipse Glow Games seems to be building environments that would make even the Lady of the Lake stop and take a screenshot.
The boss fights shown off look appropriately enormous and chaotic, which is exactly the energy you want from a game with the word "Annihilation" baked right into the title. If the final product delivers even half of what this showcase is teasing, we might be looking at one of the more visually ambitious action-adventure games in the Arthurian space - which, let's be honest, is not exactly a genre drowning in competition.

No firm launch window has been announced yet, so manage your hype meters accordingly. Technical showcases are the gaming equivalent of a restaurant posting food photos - it all looks incredible right up until you're staring at the actual plate.
