Well, stake us through the heart - Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2 has played its final save file. According to Eurogamer, the game's last ever post-launch update has landed, and it's actually packing some genuinely solid community-requested goodies before the devs hang up their coffins for good.
The final patch brings photo mode to the game, which honestly feels like a very vampire thing to do - spending eternity looking fabulous and taking screenshots of it. On top of that, players are getting sniper sights and dual-wield pistols, because apparently even immortal bloodsuckers needed better iron sights to feel complete.

A long, bumpy night
Let's not forget this game had a development cycle rougher than a werewolf's morning after. Originally announced back in 2019 under Hardsuit Labs, the project was handed off to The Chinese Room after a complete restart, eventually crawling out of its coffin and onto shelves in 2024. It was... divisive, let's say that much.

The fact that the team still went back and addressed community feedback in a final patch is genuinely worth acknowledging, even if it feels a little bittersweet. These are the kinds of features players were asking for, and getting them dropped in the game's dying breath is a classic "too little, too late" situation - but hey, better than nothing, right?

Game over screen loading...
For fans of the original Bloodlines who were hoping this sequel would scratch that iconic itch, the journey has been a long and painful grind. The original 2004 cult classic set an insanely high bar, and Bloodlines 2 spent most of its existence trying to respawn from a checkpoint that never quite loaded properly.
If you're still haunting the servers of Bloodlines 2, at least go fire off some dual-wielded pistols and strike a pose in photo mode before the lights go completely dark. It's what Caine would have wanted. Probably.
