Rejoice, heretic-slaying strategy fans! Deep Silver and developer King ART Games have officially confirmed that Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War IV is dropping on September 17th, exclusively on Windows PC via Steam, according to Niche Gamer. That's right - the grimdark RTS is finally getting a spawn point on the calendar.

For those who've been living under a rock the size of a Space Marine's shoulder pad, Dawn of War IV is the long-awaited return to one of the most beloved RTS franchises in the Warhammer universe. The series has been on ice longer than a Necron Tomb World, so this announcement is basically the gaming equivalent of a Waaagh - loud, chaotic, and overdue.

What we know so far

King ART Games - known for handling strategy titles - is at the helm this time around, which is definitely a stat change from the Relic Entertainment days. Whether that's a buff or a debuff remains to be seen, but fans are cautiously optimistic, like a guardsman told he's getting backup.

Deep Silver is publishing the title, lending it some serious industry firepower in the marketing department. A trailer has also been released alongside the announcement, giving players their first proper look at what to expect from the new entry in terms of gameplay and visuals.

Mark your in-game calendar

September 17th is coming in hot, which means PC players have precious little time left to prepare their battle stations. There's no word yet on console ports or any post-launch DLC plans - because why give us ALL the information at once when you can drip-feed it like precious Promethium?

If you haven't already added Dawn of War IV to your Steam wishlist, what are you even doing? The Emperor is watching - and he's judging your library management skills. We'll have more coverage as September approaches, so stay locked in like a Lascannon on a Chaos Titan.
