The goblin gods have been slain. Blizzard has dropped Diablo 4 patch 3.0.3, and its sole mission is to exterminate the bug that let players trigger infinite loops in War Plans - essentially spawning an endless conga line of Treasure Goblins like some kind of cursed pinata festival. According to PCGamesN, the exploit has now been firmly yeeted into the shadow realm.

The exploit in question

For the uninitiated, the War Plans system is part of Diablo 4's Vessel of Hatred content, and someone discovered a way to loop it indefinitely - meaning players could farm Treasure Goblins on repeat like they had an infinite respawn cheat code. If you were using this to pad your loot drops, congratulations, your fun is now a critical hit away from zero HP.

Blizzard's patch notes, as reported by PCGamesN, confirm the fix targets specifically the infinite loop behavior within War Plans activities. No more summoning an army of greedy little critters while the rest of us suffer through normal Sanctuary life like honest, goblin-deprived adventurers.

Lord of Hatred was also causing problems (shocking, we know)

The patch also addresses a separate mission-blocking bug tied to the Lord of Hatred himself - Mephisto. Apparently, a certain quest interaction was leaving players completely unable to progress, which is a pretty devastating debuff when you're just trying to finish a story mission. Blizzard has corrected this quest block, so players who were stuck in Mephisto's bureaucratic nightmare can finally respawn their progress.

Small patch, big vibes

Patch 3.0.3 isn't a massive content drop - it's a targeted bug-squishing session with laser focus. Think of it less as a DLC and more as Blizzard's QA team landing a precision headshot on two very specific problems. It won't give you new dungeons or a shiny new class, but it will stop the game from soft-locking you or letting speed-runners cheese the goblin economy into oblivion.

If you were one of the players exploiting the infinite goblin loop - no judgment, we would have done it too - it's time to pack up your Treasure Goblin fan club membership card. The nerf hammer has spoken, and it crits for massive damage.
