The POSTAL franchise is venturing into roguelite territory. Publisher Running With Scissors and developer Goonswarm Games have announced POSTAL: Bullet Paradise, a bullet-heaven spinoff heading to multiple platforms, according to Niche Gamer.
For the uninitiated, bullet-heaven is the genre popularized by games like Vampire Survivors - you control a single character, enemies swarm you in massive waves, and your weapons fire automatically while you focus on positioning and upgrades. It's a natural fit for a franchise built around absurdist, over-the-top violence.
Release window and platforms
POSTAL: Bullet Paradise is currently in development for Windows PC, Mac, and Linux via Steam, with a Q3 2026 launch window. Console players won't be left out - ports for Nintendo Switch, PS4, and PS5 are planned for a later date.
The cross-generational console support is worth noting. Targeting PS4 alongside PS5 keeps the game accessible to a wider player base, and the Switch port suggests Running With Scissors wants this one to reach as many players as possible rather than keeping it as a PC-only niche release.
A franchise reinventing itself
POSTAL has always leaned hard into shock value and irreverent humor, which could make for an interesting foundation in a genre where the gameplay loop itself does a lot of the heavy lifting. Bullet-heaven games live and die by their build variety, upgrade synergies, and character options - and there's plenty of room for the POSTAL universe's brand of chaotic energy to slot in naturally.
Goonswarm Games taking developer duties is an interesting choice. The studio bringing fresh eyes to an established IP while Running With Scissors handles publishing could give the project some creative breathing room.
With Q3 2026 still a fair way out, expect more details on gameplay mechanics, characters, and modes to surface well before launch. If you want to keep tabs on the project, it's worth wishlisting on Steam now given how crowded the bullet-heaven space has become - standing out early matters in this genre.
