Capcom has officially confirmed that Ingrid is joining the Street Fighter 6 roster as a paid DLC character, set to arrive in late spring 2026. According to Nintendo Life, an official gameplay trailer has also dropped alongside the announcement, giving players their first real look at how she plays in the modern engine.
Ingrid isn't exactly a newcomer to the franchise, but she's far from a household name. She originally debuted in Capcom Fighting Evolution back in 2004-2005, a crossover title that pulled characters from across Capcom's fighting game catalogue. That game recently resurfaced as part of Capcom Fighting Collection 2, giving a whole new generation a chance to discover her for the first time.

Her most recent appearance before SF6 was in Street Fighter Alpha 3 UPPER, which received Ingrid as a playable addition via a title update last August - also within Capcom Fighting Collection 2. So Capcom has clearly been laying the groundwork for her return for a while now.
Why Ingrid matters
Ingrid is a somewhat mythical figure in Street Fighter lore - a self-proclaimed goddess with a fighting style built around light-based powers and graceful, unpredictable movement. She's never had a mainline Street Fighter game appearance before SF6, which makes this addition a big deal for longtime Capcom fighting game fans who've followed her scattered history across the company's catalogue.

Street Fighter 6 has been aggressive with its DLC rollout since launch, steadily expanding its character pool with both legacy fighters and fresh faces. Ingrid slots into the former category but brings enough uniqueness to stand out from the Ryus and Chun-Lis of the world. How she translates into SF6's Drive System-based combat will be the real test when late spring rolls around.
No specific pricing details were included in the announcement, but she'll presumably follow the standard DLC character pricing already established for the game's Year 1 and Year 2 passes.
