Put down your pressure washer and grab your toolbox, because publisher tinyBuild is about to respawn a brand new contender into the cozy-sim arena. According to Push Square, a game called The Lift is heading to PS5, and it looks like it might just be the next big thing for fans of PowerWash Simulator and House Flipper.
The premise is delightfully unhinged. You play as a handyman tasked with fixing up a giant facility - but here's the plot twist that no one asked for but everyone secretly wanted - the place is absolutely crawling with supernatural oddities. Think less "relaxing weekend chores" and more "plumbing in a building that is definitely haunted."

Why should you care?
The busywork sim genre has been on an absolute winning streak lately. PowerWash Simulator turned hosing down dirty garden gnomes into a legitimate therapeutic experience, and House Flipper made us all believe we could be DIY heroes from the comfort of our couches. The Lift seems to be loading up those same dopamine-hitting gameplay loops and slapping a creepy coat of paint over the whole thing.

A haunted facility full of supernatural weirdness as your workspace? That's not a bug in the design doc, that's a feature. The idea of fixing a leaky pipe while something eldritch lurks around the corner sounds like exactly the kind of chaotic comfort food the genre needed to level up.

What we know so far
Details are still relatively thin on the ground, but tinyBuild - the publisher behind titles like Hello Neighbor - is bringing The Lift to PS5 consoles. Given tinyBuild's track record with quirky, offbeat titles, expectations are cautiously optimistic. Consider this one firmly on the radar for anyone who has ever found joy in the satisfying click of a job well done - supernatural interference notwithstanding.
No release date has been confirmed yet, so for now, this one is sitting in the "wishlist it and cope" zone. But if you're the type of gamer who grinds through chore simulators for fun, The Lift might just be your next main quest.
